Nayarit is a state whose culture, traditions and gastronomy have made it one of the favorite Mexican tourist destinations for foreigners and nationals.<\/p>

Sayulita has become a popular destination for surfers, and has become home to warm-minded Mexicans and foreigners. Sayulita is a small town located in the Bay of Banderas in the south of the state of Nayarit.<\/p>

In Sayulita there were only six or seven little houses, built of palm and lit with oil hookahs that were made from tin.<\/p>

Sayulita is recognized as one of the best places to learn and practice surfing. Its beaches have ideal waves for surfing throughout the year. The best season for surfing in Sayulita is from December to April. Sayulita is the scene of various surf tournaments such as the Children’s and Youth Surf Tournament, the Pacific Music Festival Open Surf Tournament, the Annual Long Table and Rowing Surf Tournament, among many others.<\/p>

Since the year 2105, at the end of February, the longboard competition MexiLog fest has been held, whose international attendance and awards places it as one of the most important. From November to April you can enjoy watching humpback whales in this area, which come to these waters to have their young.<\/p>

Sayulita’s beaches are of fine sand, those in the south are ideal for beginner surfers and those in the north for all levels. It is also possible to practice snorkeling, swimming, kayaking, fishing, hiking or horseback riding.<\/p>

In Sayulita you can find instructors who will facilitate your start in the world of surfing.<\/p>

Every summer the olive ridley turtle species arrives at the beaches of Sayulita to spawn in these lands. The eggs are protected at the Sayulita Tortuguero Camp, where they are released all year round, but especially from October to January.<\/p>

At lunchtime, be sure to try the dorado, marlin or red snapper, which you can enjoy in various restaurants. Don Pedro\u2019s restaurant, on the beach, has positioned itself as one of the classics, and in the center, the pizzas at La R\u00fastica are highly recommended.<\/p>

In Sayulita there are galleries and shops where you can buy jewelry, paintings, clothing, handicrafts and surf boards. Friday is tianguis day, Revoluci\u00f3n street becomes the Mercado del Pueblo, with local and regional organic products, on Sundays in Las Gaviotas street you will find everything from hats and bags to sculptures.<\/p>
